How much water do you drink daily? If your answer is not at least eight cups a day, then you are not drinking enough! Did you know that your skin in the largest organ and mostly made up of water? So, staying hydrated is one of the keys to keeping it healthy. Your skin knows when it lacks the love it requires, and when it is unhappy, your skin will let you know. Let us explore what your skin is trying to tell you when H2O is not being added to your body.

Prevent Dry Skin

Dry skin is a pain in the you know what! No matter how much you moisturise, or scrub, dry patches seem to keep returning. Well, that is due to dehydration. Did you know that not only could you drink water to help with hydration but that some foods give your skin the moisture it needs?

Food such as watermelons, strawberries, cucumbers, and celery are water-rich foods that contribute to a large amount of water to your diet. Just listing those foods makes us hungry and ready to hit the fruit market!

The key to glowing skin is working from the inside out. Drinking water flush toxins out of your body and helps the digestive system. It also helps with increasing blood flow to your skin. Just starting with two cups of water can be the beginning of removing the elements that do not serve your body allowing for your natural glow.

When is the last time you had a nice cup of tea? Yes, many wake up and rush for a cup of coffee. However, did you know that drinking green tea has benefits for your skin? Green tea contains antioxidants that precent sun damage, boost skin hydration, and prevents wrinkles. Not only can you ingest green tea, but you can also make it into a mask to prevent inflammation.

Fruits of life

Fruits are not only yummy, but they are one of the secrets behind glowing and gorgeous skin. Take an orange for example. It is packed with Vitamin C which keeps your skin firm and hydrated. Next time you are in the market, pick up some Mangoes. Did you know that mangoes reduce the appearance of acne scars and reduces acne breakouts due to its anti-inflammatory properties? If you spend lots of time in the sun, you may want to snack on Pomegranate. Since it is rich in Vitamin C, K, and minerals, pomegranates help reduce sun damage and renews your skin.

Before running out to buy skin care products, you must first make sure that your refrigerator and pantry are filled with what is needed on the inside to glow on the outside!
